Walter J. Ralko
Walter J. Ralko, 86, a 26-year Carson City resident, died Sept. 30, 2006, in Carson City.
Mr. Ralko was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Taunton, Mass., to Jozef and Anastasia Ralko.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Ralko lived in Royal Oak, Mich.
He graduated magna cum laude from Taunton High School in 1938.
He was a carpenter and had served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and had served at New Hebrides, Samoa, Guadalcanal and Guantanamo Bay.
He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life member of the carpenters union.
He enjoyed horse racing, football and making furniture.
He was preceded in death by brothers Adam Ralko in 1988 and Edmond Ralko in 1992.
Among his survivors are son and daughter-in-law Richard W. and Arlene Ralko of Carson City; son Ted J. Ralko of Reno; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth J. and Mark Clifford of Huntington Beach, Calif.; daughter Christine A. Ralko of Huntington Beach; sister Jean Stewart of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held.
Walton’s Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
