It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Christopher Brandt age 62, who passed away unexpectedly December 20, 2024. Our beloved Chris was born on December 25th at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno, Nevada and had the distinction of making front page news as being the first baby born on Christmas Day. Chris would always tell people that he loved sharing his birthday with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Chris leaves behind a loving family truly devastated by his loss - the love of his life, his wife of 38 years Joni; their son Keith; brother Jeff (Cassie); brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Debby Hood; and a legacy of love that will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Chris was a truly remarkable person with a kind heart and gentle soul. He was fiercely devoted to his family and treated everyone he met with kindness and respect.
Chris had a fun-loving adventurous spirit; he loved to travel and enjoyed all the wonders our beautiful world has to offer. He loved being out in nature, soaking up the sunshine and taking walks along the Carson River with Joni and their dog Freddie, marveling at all the beauty God put in this world just for us.
Chris proudly served in the United States Air Force for eight years, during which time he was able to travel throughout Europe and Asia. After being honorably discharged, he went to work for Rockwell International before joining the Nevada Department of Public Safety. His career spanned nineteen years during which time he held positions with the Nevada Highway Patrol, and Parole & Probation.
As we grieve this immense loss, we also celebrate the impact Chris had on our lives. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace, resting in the arms of Jesus.
We thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time as we mourn the loss of a truly special soul.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…” Revelation 21:4
