Lela Maxine Uptergrove
Lela Maxine Uptergrove, 89, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Carson City, Nevada, surrounded by her loving family.
Lela was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Michael Lockhart, Connie Casaulong, and Sandra Fornachi; and her siblings, Alice Rolfe, Theodore Fortner, and Janice Aycock.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Fred Uptergrove; her sister, Hanna Mae Mitchell; her children, Norma Pike, Kay Berntson (Jill), Teri Slatauski (John), Karen Henning (Jim), and John Uptergrove (Nhea); her grandchildren, Steve Dodson (Shannon), Sarah Guzman (Marcos), John Casaulong, James Pike, Marlyn Pike, Michelle Pike, Houston Berntson (Kindra), Skyler
Berntson (Jessica), Rachel Slatauski, Markus Henning (Claire), Lauren Castillo (Mike), Parry Uptergrove (Ashley), and Daven Uptergrove; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and strength.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mormon Station State Park, 2295 Main Street, Genoa, NV. All who knew and loved Lela are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to Jill at 775-720-8416.
