Duane Kenneth Carroll was born a spitfire on June 23, 1946 in Hettinger,
North Dakota. Duane was the oldest of seven kids, now preceded in death
by both of his parents Doris and Vern Carroll. Duane and his siblings spent their childhood on the family farm. Duane was known for his mischief, constantly playing jokes on everyone around him. In 1966 Duane had found himself a beautiful wife to marry and I think his family was eager to get him out of the house. Diane Green and Duane Carroll got married in the local church on July 23, 1966. Just three years later they made the big move to Nevada and have been here ever since. From working at Model Dairy to Pepsi-Cola to Southwest Gas Company in 1973, Duane was a hardworking, eager and determined man who loved his job. Duane retired with Southwest Gas Company in 2001. In that time, he grew close relationships with his coworkers and loved nothing more than to spend his time hanging out with his best buds. For those of you who knew Duane, you know he was a social butterfly. He could be found drinking a beer at the bar with his buds, cracking jokes on the golf course, bowling, or playing softball. Wherever he was, he could be found with a Coors Light in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Duane’s friendly and outgoing nature stayed with him to the very end, often making us laugh and smile with tears even on the hardest days. Duane passed on May 28th, 2025 surrounded by family and lots of love. He is survived by Diane, his wife of 58 years; his children Laurie and Scott (Anna); his grandchildren Madison and Stella; and his siblings Kelly, Sandra, Allen, Peggy, Bonnie, Sharon. No funeral service will be held for Duane.
