John Franklin Lucky

September 18, 1929 - May 29, 2025

John Franklin Lucky, 95, of Carson City, Nevada, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025.
Born on September 18, 1929, in Louisiana, John lived a life filled with love, service, and joy
that touched everyone who was blessed to know him.

John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during both World War II and
the Korean War, demonstrating the courage and dedication that would define his character
throughout his life. A true patriot, he always carried his love of country with him.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Peggy, and together they built a beautiful
family and shared many wonderful years until her passing in 2016. John was a devoted father
to five children: Dennis (who preceded him in death in 2018), Glenn, Randy, Sandra, and Joyce. His legacy continues through his surviving grandchildren: Jonathan, Jennifer, Kaitlin, Ryan, Amanda, Katie, and Megan, and surviving great-grandchildren: Mason, Kayla, Ethan, Angelina, Emily, Nicole, Hope, Faith, Charlotte, and Llewyn.

A skilled carpenter by trade, John had a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and working with his hands. His love of the outdoors was evident in all aspects of his life, and he found great joy in camping and 4-wheeling. Since the early 1970s, John and his family have called the Carson Tahoe area home, where he became an integral part of the community. He was a small business entrepreneur, an active member and officer of Off-Road and social clubs, and someone who could always be counted on to support his friends and family.

John’s infectious personality was legendary among those who knew him. He was always quick
with a new joke and had the remarkable ability to make others smile. Friends invariably greeted him enthusiastically, drawn to his warmth and genuine spirit. His zest for life was contagious, and his optimism brightened every room he entered.

A true lover of country, family, and life itself, John Franklin Lucky will be deeply missed by all
fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and the many
lives he touched throughout his remarkable 95 years.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at the Plaza in Carson City, Nevada on August 16th from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. All who knew and loved John are welcome to join in celebrating his extraordinary life.
