Carol J Clifford

March 20, 1941 - March 24, 2025

A resident of Virginia City, NV since 1986 and recently Boulder City, NV in 2024, Carol was born in Oil City, PA to Anthony and Paulina (Weaver) Restivo. Carol passed away peacefully on March 24th at the age of 84.

She always liked to refer to her family as having “2 Mothers, 2 Fathers, 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters!”
She came from military families. Father – Navy and Marine retired, step-father – Air Force retired, and ex-husband – Air Force retired.

Throughout her life she visited or lived in all but “7” northeastern states (Maine, Vermont, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire) and visited Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico.

Upon graduation in 1958 from Polytechnic H.S. in Long Beach, CA she moved to Tucson, AZ.
Met and married her first husband Charles Clifford, 1959. They transferred to Glasgow, MT where daughter Christine was born in 1964. In 1977, after retirement from the Air Force, the family moved to Reno, NV and were married until 1982, 23 years.

After divorce, Carol moved to Virginia City, NV in 1986 when she was working for the Reno Gazette-Journal, and then later the Nevada Appeal in Carson City.

In 1989, she met Chic DiFrancia while he was driving the V.C. Tour Trolley and fell hard for this wonderful man. The rest is history (literally). They started a hand-printing letterpress business, and spent the next 32 years together, growing it until his passing on January 22, 2021. What a great life they had!

Carol is survived by her daughter Christine and son-in-law Christopher Strain of Weiser, Idaho. Sister Annette Restivo and brother-in-law Larry Wright and niece Whitney Wright of Boulder City, NV. Also 2 brothers.

Per her wishes there will be no public services.
