Dyonne “Sue” Alyce Modarelli
June 7, 1932 - February 9, 2025
Born Los Angeles, raised in Brownsville, Texas and Los Angles. Married Joseph Modarelli July 17, 1981. Worked for Bank of America at Lake Tahoe. Officer for Security Bank of Nevada, Nevada Banking Company, and Sierra Savings. Worked for UNR Dept of Seismology, Nevada Dept. of Economic Development, NDOT Research.
Enjoyed Gardening, racing and riding motorcycles, reading. Devoted to her Aqusize at the Carson Pool with her water buddies. Worked on various remodeling projects of her house with husband, Joseph.
She and Joseph hosted 12 exchange students, two generations of one family and have kept in close contact with several of them. They visited the students in their home countries (Finland, Norway, Germany, Switzerland) several times. Friends and acquaintances looked forward to her homemade Champaigne Jelly every Christmas. She also brewed up grape juice every year from their grapes at harvest. She was a generous person with all who knew her. When invited to dinner she would always be sure to bring a bouquet of flowers (and usually with a vase).
She loved her poodles and all animals and our Nevada sunshine with all the blessings it brought.
Survived 3 strokes without any physical deficits.
Celebration of Life at 1 PM, June 7, 2025 (Her birthday) at the San Marcos Grill.
