Please join us in honoring Joe’s life with a Funeral Mass June 10, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. This will be followed by an inurnment ceremony and military honors at Eastside Memorial Park at 12:30 pm the same day.
A Celebration of Life will then be had at the CVIC Hall following services. All are welcome.
Joseph “Joe” Adlao passed away in Gardnerville, Nevada on May 13, 2025. Joe was born on April 2, 1944, in San Francisco, California to Rosendo and Severa Adlao. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Adlao, of 57 years, four children, Deborah San Luis (Troy), Sean Adlao, Jennifer Sanchez (Phil), Lisa Adlao, six grandchildren, Jocelyn San Luis, Tristan San Luis, Nate San Luis, Madisyn Sanchez, Max Sanchez, and Chloi Adlao, as well as a brother and three sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Joe is the youngest of five siblings. He attended local schools and was a part of Canon Kip Community Center. He enjoyed sports throughout his life and played basketball and baseball well into his 40’s. Joe met his wife Kathy while she was attending San Francisco State College. In 1966 he was drafted into the Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return, he and Kathy were married. They lived in several different places and added a few children to their growing family before settling down in Gardnerville, Nevada. Joe was employed by Bentley Nevada Corporation (later General Electric) for 36 years, retiring in 2014. He played men’s softball and coached Little League. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, and playing the guitar. As the family grew, husbands were added and then grandchildren, Joe always kept in touch and celebrated everyone’s activities and accomplishments. He will be missed by many.
