Holley Family Farms in Dayton has been certified organic since 2011. The farm raises lifestock as well as produce according to USDA organic requirements.
Two years after the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) decided to close its organic certification program, an organization created to fill the gap is growing. Basin and Range Organics (BAR O) was created on July 9, 2015, with the goal of providing a Nevada-based organic certification hub for producers of organic produce, animal products and companies that make such things as beverages from organic products.
