Crash victim charged with DUI (update)

A Monday afternoon crash shortly after 3 p.m. on the Reno Highway (U.S. Highway 50) resulted in the driver of one vehicle being transported by Care Flight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. A passenger was transported to Banner Churchill Community Hospital with injuries. Both the Nevada Highway Patrol and Churchill County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene as were Banner Churchill paramedics. The NHP is still investigating the crash, including how the SUV wound up on the railroad tracks. The SUV driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
