Carson 11-12’s win 2nd straight

Carson City’s 11-12-year-old all-star team continued its winning ways in District 1 play with a 7-5 win over Reno Continental Sunday night at Governors Field.

The win sends Carson into a third-round match-up with perennial powerhouse Washoe Valley, which won its second-round game 17-0. First pitch is set for 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Manager Jim Andrews said that John Holton, who threw 61 pitches on Saturday, will be his starter on the mound.

Holton led the offense against Reno Continental with two hits and three RBIs. Winning pitcher P.J. White, who worked the first four innings, also collected two hits.

Shane Andrews went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Connor Leahy and Kyle kunz each ahd a hit and RBI.
