“They’re just too small. I thought they passed well. I thought our guys did a great job of staying focused because Reno will be better on Thursday,” James also said about Thursday’s match at Reno.
Carson jumped out to a 4-0 lead in game one behind Rachael DeRiemer’s kill and an ace and back row kill from Shannon Devereaux. DeRiemer’s back-to-back aces made it 6-2.
After North Valleys closed to within 6-4, Carson went on a 9-0 run. Devereaux and Katie Lawson both served for aces, DeRiemer had a kill and Tabitha Adams had a block as Carson built a 10-4 lead.
