Nevada downs Utah St.
LOGAN, Utah — D.J. Fenner scored 21 points to lead five players in double figures as Nevada downed Utah State 89-84 on Saturday night.
Marqueze Coleman added 20 points for the Wolf Pack (13-8, 5-4 Mountain West Conference). Tyron Criswell had 19 points, Cameron Oliver had 16 points and Eric Cooper Jr. chipped in 13.
Criswell sank a pair of 3-pointers and Oliver hit another as part of an 11-2 run midway through the first half that gave Nevada a 27-22 lead with 8:19 to go before halftime.
Utah State trailed by 14 at the break and opened the second half on a 17-10 run that closed the gap to seven, 59-52, with 15:36 to go. The Aggies (11-9, 3-6) tied it 78-78 on a jumper by Shane Rector with 3:19 left but could not overtake the Wolf Pack in the stretch.
Chris Smith scored 19 points for Utah State.
NOTES: Nevada won at Utah State for just the fourth time in 22 games…Nevada put five players in double figures.It was 11th time four or more players scored in double figures…After scoring 20 points tonight, Coleman has 10 games this season of 20 or more points. Coleman has 960 career points …D.J.
