Dayton volleyball falls to Wooster

As a 3A school, the Dayton volleyball team surprised 4A Wooster in the first game, but couldn’t sustain its momentum and ended up losing its season opener.

Dayton fell to Wooster 15-9, 9-15, 4-15, 12-15. Rachel Hurt served for nine points, including two aces, and had four kills and two blocks, Ashley Reese served for eighth points and two aces and had two kills and three assists, Carey Kytle had six kills and two blocks and Bridgette Galles served for seven points and an ace and had two assists and a block for the Dust Devils.

In the junior varsity match, Dayton lost 13-15, 15-12, 5-15 while the Dust Devils won the freshman match 12-15, 15-6, 15-1.
