Douglas boys roll against Fallon

Staff Reports

It took a quarter and a half for it to get settled in but once it did, the Douglas boys’ basketball team had little trouble disposing of Fallon, 65-36 in the Tigers’ home-opener Thursday night.

The Tigers got 15 points out of 6-foot, 6-inch sophomore forward Jeff Nady and 11 points out of 6-9 junior center Keith Olson to cruise to the victory in the opening round of the Carson Valley Classic.

David Laird and Jordan Hadlock, both sophomores, scored nine points each and junior Michael Gransbery added seven.

In total, the Tigers had 11 of 13 players put points on the board in the game.

Fallon got seven points out of Marshall Morrison and six points, all in the fourth quarter, from Brian Perkins but were never really able to fall into a rhythm against Douglas’ defense.

In fact, the Greenwave were not able to put together any runs, not scoring any unanswered points until the fourth quarter when the game was already well in hand at 55-24.
