Late Wednesday night, the Duke Blue Devils picked up their first commitment from the 2008 class when Reno High School power forward Olek Czyz called head coach Mike Krzywzewski to inform him he wanted to be a Blue Devil, Rivals.com reported.

“”First I called coach (Rick) Pitino and told him that I decided to go to Duke and he wished me luck,” Czyz said. “I called Coach K about two hours ago (7 p.m.) and told him that I was coming to Duke. Coach K just told me that I made the right choice and he was excited to have me.”

Czyz, who comes in rated as the nation’s 28th rated player at his position and No. 105 overall, averaged 18.7 points and 8.3 rebounds as a junior. Czyz is rated as a three-star player by Rivals.com.
