Dust Devils running to Vegas
Dayton finished fourth in both the girls and boys races at the Northern 3A Regionals, while Logan Ingersoll and Savannah Pritchett qualified for state during their races at Rancho San Rafael Park.
Pritchett, a freshman, ran 23:10 to place fifth in the girls race. Ingersoll, a sophomore, ran 19:07 to place 10th.
“Savannah ran very well,” Dayton coach Mike Paul said. “This was pretty much her best time. She ran 23:04 at Lowry, but that’s a flat course, so today was a far better race for her.”
Kris Marshall, who recovered from an early season injury to run the last three meets, finished 20th (19:53) and missed qualifying for state by 22 seconds. Freshman Jeremiah Marshall finished 21st (20:01), Jason Wheeler 31st (20:36), Matt Cantwell 32nd (20:37), Mike Hartley 37th (20:51) and Hans Meyer 43rd (21:18) for Dayton.
In the girls race, Theresa Hardy finished 18th (25:03), Marie Matheny 30th (26:14), Bree Anne Cisneros 34th (27:54), Sarah Melia 37th (28:25) and Amanda Marrow 38th (29:00) and Kristin Anderson 39th (30:05) for Dayton.
