Fallon opens season with doubleheader sweep

SPARKS — The Greenwave baseball team opened its 2019 season with a doubleheader sweep at Sparks, 22-0 and 25-0.

Sparks has cancelled its Friday games for the season.

Sparks, which has a limited number of players on the varsity, did not field a junior varsity team. Fallon coach Lester de Braga said Fallon’s junior varsity played in the second game.

Fallon is 2-0 in the Northern 3A and plays Fernley at 2 p.m. on Friday and a doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Larry Barker will broadcast Friday’s game on KKTU 99.5 FM or on the Internet at http://www.network1sports.com/station/kktu.
