Fallon swimmers qualify for regional, aim to lower times

The Greenwave boys and girls swimming team has qualified in all events necessary for the regional meet next month in Carson City.

But to get to state, Fallon needs to shave some times to maximize the number of participants swimming in the biggest meet of the season, which will also be in Carson.

Listed below is where the Greenwave stands with two more meets left, including Friday’s contest in Carson before finishing the regular season in Truckee on May 4. State qualifying times listed reflect the fourth-place swimmer in each event. The top four advance to state.

State-qualifying times: 26.96 (50-yard freestyle), 59.03 (100 free), 2:12.70 (200 free), 6:05.36 (500 free), 1:06.06 (100 backstroke), 47.29 (50 breaststroke), 1:17.81 (100 breast), 1:08.29 (100 fly) and 2:31.15 (200 Individual medley)
