Former Carson High athlete Parker Lehmann has advanced to the British Columbia Provincial Championship track meet in Canada.

Lehmann, a sophomore at Sa-Hali Secondary School, qualified for the championship by winning the Junior 800 meters and taking second in the Junior 1500 at the Okanagan Championships held in Kamloops, British Columbia this week.

He had earlier won the 800, 1500, and 3000 at the zone meet. Seasonal bests for Lehmann include a 4:39 1600 at the Nike Eason Invitational in Snohomish, Wash., and a 2:05 800 at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

The British Columbia Provincial Championship is the largest track meet in Canada and takes place May 30-June 1 in Kelowna, British Columbia. Parker and his family moved from Carson City to Canada last summer.
