About Nevada: The Pack comes off a four-game sweep of Western Athletic Conference foe Louisiana Tech, which included come-from-behind wins in both games of Saturday’s doubleheader … Catcher Tyson Jaquez has hit in 10 straight games … No doubt today’s game will see coach Gary Powers use most of his pitching staff, though its doubtful anybody will go more than two innings … Rodland had a great series, hitting his first homer of the season and driving in five runs on Friday night … David Ciarlo, who threw up during Thursday’s game, played late in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader. His status is day-to-day, though his replacement Nick Leid filled in nicely.

About UNLV: The Rebels had a rough time against Cal-State Fullerton, losing all three games, two of them by one run … UNLV took two of three from New Mexico the week before … Michael Brenly, son of ex-Giant Bob Brenly, is hitting .305 … Xavier Scruggs leads the team with six homers.
