Blue Jays fall against Medford, Sun Devils

The Carson Blue Jays baseball team suffered a couple of close losses after not being able to hold onto a lead Saturday.

Carson fell to Medford 4-2 and then couldn’t hold onto an eight-run lead in a 14-13 loss to the Sierra Sun Devils.

Against Medford, the Carson Blue Jays jumped out to an early lead and led until the sixth inning, Medford worked its way back and took the lead on a two-run double.

Landon Truesdale put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Blue Jays (24-9). He doubled in the first and third innings.

Bryce Moyle was charged with the loss. He pitched a complete game, walking just one and striking out 10.

Medford jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

After a quick strike from Medford, the Blue Jays responded with one run in the first. Carson scored on an RBI single by Abel Carter.

Carson held an eight-run lead in the fourth inning against the Sun Devils before the Sun Devils came back

The top of the first saw the Blue Jays take an early 6-0 lead. Landon Truesdale singled to ignite the Carson Blue Jays’ offense. A single by Brandon Gagnon then moved Truesdale from first to third. Abel Carter doubled, scoring Truesdale. Carson then tacked on more runs when Gagnon and Carter scored on a two-run single by Jace Keema, Moyle and Edis scored on a two-run double by Kahle Good, and Good scored on an RBI single by Nico Salm.

After posting four runs in the first, the Sun Devils again scored four in the fourth. The Blue Jays pushed across three runs in both the third inning and the fourth.

The Sun Devils completed their comeback when they scored five runs in the sixth.
