The Carson Mitey Mites recorded their fifth straight shutout of the season, a 6-0 conquest of Reno Central last weekend in Pop Warner action.

Carson finished the regular season with a 6-1 record and will start playoff action this week.

Alex Myrehn recovered two fumbles for Carson, while Isaac Avina, Dawson Main, Damian Morris, Quentin Beck, David Smith, Seth Knox, Eli Foutz and Keegan Ferris were lauded for their outstanding defensive play.

Eduardo Orozco scored the game’s only touchdown. Vinny Ferretti, Zach Guthrie, Nathan McKee, Alva Zervo, Caid Encinas and Isiah Abel played well on offense.

Stone, Rogers tie

Ken Stone and Mike Rogers shot net 64s to tie for first place in Flight A at the recent Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club tournament on Oct. 23.

Charles Bell and Tom Teders tied for second with 65s and Ray Huntley shot a 67.

Norm Scoggin won Flight B with a 61, while Ken Cuneo and Gary Mick tied for second with 64s. Jim Laporte was fourth with a 66 and Bob Hendry shot a 68.

Prause wins at CVGC

Marc Prause shot a 64 win Flight A at Carson Valley Men’s Club weekly tournament.

Ken Smitreski was second with a 71, while Marc Menezes was third with a 73. Roger Hala won Flight B with a 63 followed by Mike Davis and Fred Coons at 73 and 77, respectively.

Matt Budjako won Flight C with a 69 followed by Brent Holderman at 71 and Augie Martinez at 72.

Larry Lockwood won Flight D with a 75 followed by Paul Lockwood and Bob Van Nort at 78 and 80.
