Vikings roll against Dayton; Carson returns to action

Nevada Appeal Staff Report

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — South Tahoe outscored Dayton 17-4 in the first quarter en route to an easy 81-50 victory in a 3A boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Dayton turned the ball over 12 times in the first half and 22 times overall.

"We've got to protect the ball and come out faster," said Kevin Ply, Dayton assistant coach. "If we can protect the ball better, we'll be in the game."

Dayton went 16-for-27 from the field, but the turnovers were too much to overcome.

JJ Ply led the scoring with 20 points, Trevor Burrows added 15 and Weston Hill scored six. Ply blocked four shots and pulled down six rebounds. Burrows pulled down seven rebounds.
