Racing continues at Champion
June 6, 2003
Saturday at Champion Motor Speedway will feature the return of the Freakin’ Figure 8 Races, presented by Valley Towing.
This exciting evening of crisscross mayhem also features Charter Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Les Schwab Street Stocks, Legends, Hustlin’ Hornets and the Bandoleros. Also in action will be the Fast Four Trophy Dash series.
Fun Jumpers Earnhardt Memorial Park will have the bounce house pavilion and the Ponderosa Stamp & Engraving kids bicycle races at 6:30 p.m. This week’s special Kids Klub attraction is the long-awaited “EconoBox Nite.” All kids will need to bring their racing boxes for a special “how to build” an EconoBox racer seminar.
Showing at all five Thunder Theater locations will be either live, NASCAR Busch series racing from Nashville Super Speedway or IRL action from Texas Motor Speedway.
Fans in the stands can decide which race gets shown live. Simply log on at http://www.ChampionMotorSpeedway.com and cast your vote. As of Wednesday the NASCAR race was holding a slight 55 percent to 45 percent advantage over the IRL race, voting should go down to the wire.
Pits open at 3 p.m., front gates open at 5 and the show starts at 7. Adults are $9, seniors (55-older) and military (with photo ID) are $7, teens (13-18) are $5, juniors (6-12) are $3 and kids (5-younger) are free. Event parking is also free.
