Rasner passed over, continues to pitch well
While Darrell Rasner was passed over again for a possible call-up, he’s doing everything he can to show the New York Yankees that he belongs with the Major League club.
Rasner was the winning pitcher on Sunday in his second outing in Triple A. He pitched five scoreless innings in the Scranton Wilkes/Barre Yankees 7-1 win over Columbus, striking out three and walking one while allowing four hits. In his two outings with Scranton, Rasner has yet to allow a run in eight innings.
On Saturday, Yankees starting pitcher Jeff Karstens had his right fibula broken, making it necessary for the club to bring up a pitcher from the minor leagues. But the Yankees decided to bring up relief pitcher Colter Bean, passing over Rasner.
