Five teams competed in the tournament, coming from Reno, Yerington, Susanville, Carson City, and Fallon. On Saturday the team beat the Reno Predators, which took first place in last week’s Fernley Tournament, followed with a victory over the Fallon Heat.
The Sharks lost their third pool game to Yerington, but were able to hold on to a first seed for Sunday’s single elimination playoff. On Sunday they beat Lassen in the semifinals. Then they faced Yerington in the Championship game.
Yerington started out with a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but later fell to the Carson Sharks by the score of 9-1. The Sharks defense allowed only three runs on Sunday and scored 17 runs.
