Supermodified race postponed

Appeal Staff Report

The Western States Supermodified Racing League canceled Friday night’s race at Meridian Speedway in Meridian, Idaho due to rain.

Racing from Northern Nevada are the teams of S&S Motorsports, owners Steve Shaw and Tom Silsby of Carson City with driver Troy Regier of Dinuba, Calif.; Amy Barnes and Eric Silsby, both of Minden driving cars owned by DNA Racing (Danny and Amy Barnes), and Mike Baisch of Salt Lake City driving a car owned by Courtney Lewis of Reno.

The annual Diamond Cup event was to be a two-day race, 40 laps each on Friday and Saturday.

WSSRL officials are anticipating racing today (Saturday), with just one, 40-lap feature.

Should the race be completed, results will be in Monday’s Nevada Appeal.
