WNCC soccer beats Snow College
The Western Nevada Community College women’s soccer team broke out of its mini-funk with an 8-0 win over Snow College in Utah on Saturday.
“The first 10 minutes we were sorting things out,” WNCC coach Hillary Arthur said. “We finally picked up our momentum. I think the whole team played really well. Hopefully we’re out of our slump.”
Hannah Lee and Jessica Maule had huge games for WNCC as Maule had three goals and four assists and Lee had two goals and three assists.
“She had a really good game,” said Arthur about Maule. “She was all over the field offensively and defensively. She really covered a lot of ground.”
WNCC settled for a 2-0 halftime lead on goals by Maule and Melissa Goldfin. But in the second half, Maule and Lee each scored twice and Demi Vega and Alison Pyne also scored. Goalies Rachelle Goulet and Allie Otto combined to post the shutout.
The Wildcats are now without one of its top players in Christina Bradshaw, who had to leave the team for personal reasons. WNCC also continues to play without another one of its top players, Dominique Gloude, who’s still out with a knee injury.
