Margarita F. Toth passed away Oct. 24, 2008 at Evergreen Care Center, Carson City. She was born March 16, 1932 in Budapest Hungary and moved to Buenas Aries, Argentina, at an early age, to avoid the German/Russian conflict.

In Buenas Aires, she worked as a hostess in the Winter Garden Restaurant from 1956 to 1962. She met her future husband John, who was trained by the Ritz Hotel School in Restaurant Management.

They moved to Australia in 1964, where they were married and managed a bistro and bottle department in the Hotel Australia. In 1972 they relocated to Caracas, Venezuela and were owners of a Hungarian restaurant. In 1980 they moved to Hawthorne to be near John's brother where they opened an upscale restaurant known as The Embers.

From 1990 to 1994, Margo and her husband owned and operated "The Ember's Manson Restaurant" on Curry St. in Carson City. Prior to her husband's death and up until the recent time of her illness, Margo worked at various metro pawn stores for over three years.

Margo's favorite country was New Zealand. She enjoyed needlepoint, collecting artwork and painting with watercolors.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life near future. Please contact John Wittrig at (775) 721-0021 for details. Fit Henry's Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the arrangements.
