Regli qualifies for state cross country meet

Senior Savanna Regli will be the lone representative from Churchill County in this week’s state cross country meet.
Fallon and Oasis Academy competed in Saturday’s regional meet at Shadow Mountain where the top seven runners from non-qualifying teams advanced to the state meet.
Running for the Lady Wave, Regli finished ninth overall to punch her ticket to state. Regli ran the 5K course in 22 minutes, 45 seconds, and Lowry’s Jovi Kuskie won the race in 20:11.
Regli will run in the state meet Saturday at 1:40 p.m. at Shadow Mountain.
Fallon teammate Zoey Brown, also a senior, finished one spot shy of qualifying as she finished 23rd overall with a time of 24:36. Her time was one-hundredth of a second from the seventh-place finisher.
For the boys, junior Cameron Christy led Fallon with a time of 21:03 to finish 34th overall. Christy was 59 seconds off the last-qualifying time for state. Junior Gerrick Wassmuth finished 38th at 21:48, and freshman Miles Henning recorded a time of 31:32.
Senior Gavin Bracken led Oasis Academy with a 26th-place finish in 22:31, and senior Hunter Arends was 39th and had a time of 25:21. The last qualifying time for state was 20:55.
