UPDATE, Sunday, Dec. 11
Carson City has announced the cancelation of Homestead Holidays on Sunday due to the winter storm.

INITIAL STORY

The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space department have announced that their Homestead Holidays event at Silver Saddle Ranch will be cancelled on Saturday, December 10 due to weather-related safety concerns. The National Weather Service forecasts a 100% chance of precipitation and winds over 40 mph.

“We regret having to cancel any day of Homestead Holidays, but the safety of our staff, volunteers, and community is our number one concern, and unfortunately the high winds could create unsafe conditions out at Silver Saddle Ranch.” said Sierra Scott, Arts & Culture Supervisor.

The Parks, Recreation & Open Space department hopes to resume the event tomorrow, Sunday, December 11. However, before coming to the event, they highly recommend that community members check for up to date cancellation information at facebook.com/CCPRDeptwww.Carson.org/Homesteadholidays or call 775-283-7629.

For additional information or questions, please contact Sierra Scott, Arts & Culture Supervisor at siscott@carson.org or 775.283.7867. For more information on the event, visit www.carson.org/homesteadholidays
