UPDATE: School staff member found dead in restroom

It is with great sadness that we report the death today of high school staff member Sandra Trotter.  

Police are investigating this death as a possible suicide. No students or other staff were involved in this incident in any way.

There will be counseling services available at the District Office tomorrow Friday, Sept. 23  from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. for students and staff who are in need of support.

We are here for everyone at this really confusing and difficult time.  Additional supports will be available as needed.

UPDATE Thursday, 4:15 p.m.
Thursday at 12:25 p.m., Churchill County High School entered lockdown while staff and the Fallon Police Department investigated an incident in the high school office.
The school remained in lockdown until it was determined that there was no threat to students or staff. After lifting the lockdown, students finished the school day.
The school district is reporting the death of a staff member found in the faculty restroom in the school office area. Fallon Police are investigating the incident, and there is no threat to the safety and well-being of students and staff at the high school.

INITIAL POST

Churchill County High School entered a lockdown at 12:25 p.m. on Sept. 22 due to an isolated incident in the office.
Students are in class and the lockdown has been lifted. There is no active threat to students or staff members.
School will be released at the normal time of 3:05 p.m. Please refrain from contacting the high school at this time. All questions should be directed to 775-423-5184.
The school district will send another message with further information as it becomes available
