Hendrix appointed to Lyon County commission seat

Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo appointed Lyon County Planning Commissioner Tammy Hendrix as of Feb. 9 to fill the vacant Board of County Commissioners District 3 seat.

The county commission now seeks applicants to fill Hendrix’s vacancy on the Planning Commission.

The Planning Commission, composed of seven members, hears development applications and land use matters for resolution and recommendation to the Board of Commissioners. The Planning Commission meets at 9 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month in the Board of Commissioners Chambers in Yerington.

The Lyon County Commission District 3 seat was vacated by former Commissioner Ken Gray.

Those interested in applying to serve on the Planning Commission must submit an application to the county manager’s office by 5 p.m. March 6 to be included in the agenda packet. Applications can be found on the Lyon County website at www.lyon-county.org.

Completed applications can be submitted via email to elopez@lyon-county.org or by mail or in person to the county manager’s office, 27 S. Main St., Yerington, Nev., 89447. Applications that are mailed must be received prior to the agenda posting or meeting to be considered by the board.

Applications will be presented for possible appointment during the Board of Commissioners meeting beginning at 9 a.m. March 16.
