On Sunday, Sept. 10, at 12:37 a.m., Central Lyon County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a commercial structure fire near Toiyabe and Spruce Streets in Silver Springs, according to a news release.
On arrival, crews found fire and smoke showing from a power pole plant. One employee of the power pole plant was present and evacuated. There are no reported injuries.
Due to the wood and diesel fuels present, Central Lyon isolated the fire to one area of the facility while it self-mitigates. Please avoid the area.
Crews from NV Energy, Southwest Gas, and Storey County Fire Protection District are assisting in the response.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
