Job duties:
My job as sports director is to try and provide the best coverage of local athletes as possible. That encompasses high school sports, local athletes competing in college and at the professional level. I love being able to interact with the communities around Northern Nevada and hope to continue to tell their stories as best as possible. Feel free to share any story ideas or tips with me via email at ceckl@nevadaappeal.com.
I hope to continue to serve this area to the best of my ability.
About me:
I am originally from the East Bay in California, but attended Ohio University for college where I studied journalism. I will admit to being a tad biased toward the Bobcats as Athens, Ohio, may be one of the prettiest places in the country – besides the Sierra, of course.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, snowboarding and just generally trying to get out of the house.
I think I am also becoming a decent cook, albeit very slowly.
Whenever I can, I love being around family or friends, which are spread all over the country.
While I enjoy essentially every sport that I’m aware of, I personally love professional baseball and the intricacies and nuance that come with the game.
