Fallon’s High Desert Grange is gearing up for their Fall events. Below is a list of currently scheduled activities.

Old Timers and Pee Wee Goat and Sheep Show – Oct. 1

Oct. 1 will find High Desert Grangers at Lattin Farms, 1995 McLean Road, Fallon, where they will hold their annual Old Timers and Pee Wee Goat and Sheep Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is open to the public and is a fundraiser whose proceeds will go to livestock youth groups to help youth go to clinics, buy supplies for clubs, and to help in purchasing awards for other livestock shows.

Anyone may participate. Gift baskets of locally made items will be raffled off at the Old Timers Show.

Meat goat, dairy goat and sheep quality classes will be offered for a fee of $20 per animal per class. Additionally, a class in showmanship is scheduled for a fee of $10. This is an opportunity for any “old timer” (adults ages 19 and up) to learn about their goat or sheep and, if one dares, to test their skill at showing in the ring and be judged on their efforts.
For young children (ages 3 to 8) who are not able to show at youth livestock shows, a showmanship class will be offered for a fee of $10. This will be open to any youth who has a sheep, dairy goat, or meat goat. Pee Wees will be judged just like the big kids.
To enter via mail: Make checks payable to the High Desert Grange and mail to High Desert Grange, P.O. Box 5272, Fallon, NV 89407.
