Work-Based Learning Coordinator Sue Segura invites the community to attend a school-to-career night in the Churchill County High School cafeteria on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 5:45-7:30 p.m.
Current seniors and their parents will find this event to be particularly helpful as scholarship, internship and career information will be presented. The Churchill Entrepreneurial Development Association is a partner with the school district on Work-Based Learning.
Representatives of community vocational careers will conduct roundtable discussions with the students. Scheduled are JOIN Inc., Nevada Gold Mines, operative plasterers and cement masons, Bill McFadden of McFadden Electric, Justin Judd of Just In Time Heating and Air Conditioning, Jake Olsen representing dairy farming and agriculture and Darcie Spero of Skiver Bootmakers discussing cosmetology and entrepreneurship.
A Spanish interpreter will also be on site. The evening will begin with appetizers prepared by the school’s culinary department.
