As soon as Bonnie and Rodney Williams found out His Inspirations was for sale, they felt God leading them to become the new owners.

Wende Hook had first opened His Inspirations in November 2010. Now, almost 13 years later, she was ready to let it go and spend more time with her family.

Bonnie Williams, previously an employee in the store from July 2020 until December 2022, didn’t want to see the store close.

“I grew up in a Christian publishing family, so it’s close to my heart,” she said. “My father worked for two different Christian publishers. My mom was in ministry and my dad was an ordained minister, so it’s kind of in my blood.”

Although the stock placement has been refreshed and shuffled, the theme of the store will remain the same. A large selection of faith-based books and gifts for all ages and occasions are available in the store, located at 200 S. Maine St., Suite B. An expanded selection of Bibles, study books, devotionals and journals has been moved to fill a larger shelf space. Williams said she can also order anything that is not currently in stock.

“We want this to be a place that when you come in you can feel the peace,” she said. “We want it to be calming and someplace where you can take a deep breath.”

His Inspirations is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Williams said everybody who has come into the store is really happy it will stay open.

“It means a lot to people in this community,” she said.
