The summer is heating up, both outside and here at the Fallon Theatre.

We have some fantastic fun planned for this weekend; you’ll not want to miss bringing the kiddos to our interactive Frozen Sing-Along at 6 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Cool off at a movie event where the littles are not expected to sit quietly.

Come on down and sing your hearts out right alongside your favorite characters and an auditorium of fellow fans with on-screen lyrics, even though you likely won’t need them — these jams are probably a memorized household staple.

Both showings are free thanks to our generous sponsor, Central Nevada Health Network. “Frozen” is rated PG.

And speaking of heat. At 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday we’re showing the original 1986 Top Gun starring the sizzling duo of Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis. Although when the movie was filmed, the squadrons were based at Naval Air Station Miramar in California, many of the scenes were actually filmed here at NAS Fallon, including the infamous low-level control tower fly-by.

This film is sponsored by Western Nevada College to promote their aviation courses. For information, visit: wnc.edu/class-schedule. Top Gun is rated PG.

Coming up on July 20 at 7 p.m.. we’ll be hosting Acid Box, a Fallon-local band that blends hard rock, heavy metal and punk with a blues influence. They’ll be joined by additional local talent, Anabelle and the Desert Scrubs and there is a cover charge of $10.

Looking ahead to August, we’ll be participating in the 10th annual Community Reunion with a free concert on Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. with River Rogue, open-house Theatre Tours on Aug. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Community Karaoke from 2-4 p.m. Also, don’t miss our annual summer fundraising 5K fun run/walk on the Aug.24 — The Cantaloupe Canter. Early registration and sponsorship forms can be found on our website, fallontheatre.com.
