Judy Diehl

November 7, 1945 - February 5, 2021

Judith Yoak Diehl, 74, was taken by Covid-19
to the great grief of her family and friends.
After living a full life, her Dash, she left us too soon.

Judy was born in Ohio as the older fraternal twin
to her sister, Joyce (Joy). She grew up in Akron,
becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse at age 31 and a
Registered Nurse at the age of 41. She worked in
Cardiac Critical Care and other various roles and was
an employee of Indiana University Health, Indianapolis
for 37 years. She continued working for them remotely
as a Clinical Documentation Liaison, and briefly for
Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center,
after moving to Dayton, NV in 2014.

Judy has two sons, David Lawrence and Matthew
Lawrence, and two beloved granddaughters,
Abigail and Victoria Lawrence. Judy’s second
husband of almost 22 years, John, a retired military
officer, died of cancer on January 2, 2021,
shortly before Judy was hospitalized with Covid.

Judy was a passionate traveler who had no greater
joy than planning and taking any kind of trip, especially
international tours. Her travels included the United
Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Greece, Alaska,
China/Tibet, Egypt, Israel and several other countries
in the Middle East. She took several cruises with her
family and was excited too by local bus tours and visits
to family in Florida and Ohio.

She enjoyed crafting and created many beautiful
Diamond “dot” paintings and pictures. As an avid reader,
Judy was a regular book club member offering good
insights and perceptions of her readings. She served
on the Board of the Carson City Leisure Hour Club
and was also a volunteer for the Carson City Historical
Society. Judy made friends easily and was intelligent,
kind, loyal, patient, adventurous, always helpful, and so
much more. “To know her was to love her.”

Judy is survived by her twin sister, her sons,
granddaughters, her most beloved niece,
Wendy Jones, and many special friends in Nevada,
Indiana, Ohio, and other places far and wide.

In memory of Judy, please consider donating
in her name to your favorite local charity. Plans for a
memorial gathering are pending.
