Gerald Raymond Rasmussen

April 13, 1937 - March 25, 2024

Jerry Rasmussen was born in Codington County, South Dakota to Raymond and Minerva (Froke) Rasmussen on April 13, 1937.

He was employed for many years at the Jerseymaid Dairy Company in Los Angeles and was instrumental in helping develop the first plastic gallon milk jug. It was there that he met and fell in love with his late wife, Dee. They were married in Reno in December of 1967.

Jerry and Dee lived in Covina, California until they retired and moved to Gardnerville in 1997.
He loved Gardnerville and almost immediately became involved in volunteering. He served on various projects for the local AARP Chapter in the old senior center building and was Chapter President in 2002. He joined the senior center Young at Heart club and served there also.

In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed bowling and after retirement, he could be found at the Douglas County Senior Center playing cards with friends. He especially loved playing Pinochle.

Jerry is survived by his three stepchildren: Ron, Sharon, and Tami. And, his loving dog, Ginger.

In May of 2022, Jerry moved to Hemet, California to be close to his loved ones. He will now be with his beloved wife, Dee, once again. He will be missed very much.

His wishes were to not have a funeral service. Jerry made arrangements forty years ago with the Neptune Society and requested that his ashes be scattered at sea in San Diego, California.
