Christopher Sean Hansen
March 16, 1972 - November 27, 2023
On November 27th of 2023, Christopher Sean Hansen, 51, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Christopher, who went by his middle name, Sean, was born on March 16th, 1972, in Ely Nevada, to parents Ferrel Hansen and Carol Cvitkovich (Mead).
Growing up he learned to love hunting, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers on tv, working with his grandpa Demont at the Texaco station, and high school rodeo. Sean excelled as a bareback rider, winning many buckles, including being 3rd in the state of Nevada for high school rodeo in 1989.
After graduating, Sean moved to Phoenix to begin electrician and farrier school. Following this, he moved to Gardnerville, Nevada, where he would live out the remainder of his life. Sean continued his passion for horses, working as a farrier for many years, and would eventually begin his 23-year career as a maintenance technician for General Electric in 2000.
Sean had a very close relationship with his family, and was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He held many titles in his life, but his favorite role was being a father to his son Taryn.
Born in 1997, Sean and Taryn would become the best of friends. He was an extremely loving and caring father, who would do anything for his son. As a dad, he never missed a single football game, was present for every one of Taryn’s life achievements, and was the best dad that anyone could ask for. Taryn’s desire is to carry out his father’s legacy, and the countless life lessons his dad taught him. He was always there for his family. Everyone knew Sean for his great sense of humor, his love for the Pittsburgh Steelers and anything Disney related. Sean was also a skilled artist, and devout Christian.
Sean is survived by his mother Carol, stepfather Dennis, stepmother Jacki, son Taryn, sister Nicole, stepbrother Brent, stepsister Jesse and nieces Payton and Rylie. Sean’s hero, and dearly loved Father Ferrel, passed away a few weeks later on January 11th, to a hard-fought battle with cancer.
The characteristics that stood out the most about Sean were his loyalty, genuineness, and caring heart. He touched many people. Though a great man was lost on earth, heaven gained a new citizen. He is dearly loved and missed, but forever in the presence of his Lord. Thank you for being such a caring father, son, brother and uncle, your family and friends will forever miss you.
Sean’s celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 27th, at 11 am at High Sierra Fellowship.
