Norma Alberta Sherman

June 18, 1922 - June 3, 2024

Norma Alberta Sherman, born June 18, 1922, in Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away in Gardnerville Nevada on June 3, 2024.

Growing up in Colorado Springs, with her with her two younger sisters; Ruthie and Donna Lee, Norma (then Warton) loved singing and was very involved in her school choir. In 1940 the family moved to Reseda California. Once in Southern California, she married Dale Sherman and had two sons, William and Dennis.

During World War II, Norma worked alongside many other women, famously, as ‘Rosie the Riveters’ honorably supporting war efforts. Far ahead of her time, Norma had many occupations that she excelled in, including bookkeeping, hotel management and personal assistant.

In 1967 she and her husband moved to Seattle then Castlerock Washington where they built a home with their own two hands on 3 acres of beautiful Forest land. They enjoyed many years there caring for their chickens and loving their Springer spaniels.

After her beloved husband’s passing, Norma moved to Gardnerville to be close to her nieces, who she adored, Michelle Pike and Marsha Furtado.

Norma was an avid reader, until the very end, devouring up to 5 books a week, even at 101-year-old. She will be greatly missed by all of her family, her sons, her 5 grandchildren and her 8 great grandchildren.
