Shannon Litz / Nevada AppealDiane Saamer sorts toys for a family on Thursday evening. The hotline to sign up for Toys for Tots, which provides Christmas gifts for children in need, is now open. Call 775-884-8697 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays until Dec. 20 to sign up. To donate, drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any of 70 locations throughout Carson City.
