VIEW FROM THE PAST

Churchill and Humbolt Counties already feel the stimulus of the demand for antimony. Old mines which have been closed for years are being reopened, since the war in Europe began. Churchill county’s antimony mines, in Bernice canyon, were recently opened up after having been closed down for many years, and some ore was shipped. The men became alarmed about their money and quit. They were paid off, however, and Messrs. Black and Solomon, the operators, are daily expected to arrive and resume operations.
