Lauren McLean's article in 2010 is at the center of a national movement to grant more protection to student journalists. Her article appeared in the Churchill County High School's "The Greenwave Flash."
The Senate Education Committee last week recommended passage of a bill expanding and protecting the rights of K-12 and university student journalists to free speech.
