MINDEN - A Douglas County deputy accused of misconduct and trespassing did not enter a plea in court Wednesday morning.

A pretrial conference was set for 1 p.m. Sept. 26.

Deputy District Attorney Kris Brown said such a meeting is for the two sides to discuss the case and perhaps come to an agreement. Otherwise, the case will be set for trial.

Brown said Jeffery Roberson, represented by attorney Mark Kilburn, is accused of breaking into a Minden jail inmate's car after the man was arrested.

The car was parked at Valley Tow on May 27, when Roberson is accused of illegally entering the car lot and accessing the car to remove alleged methamphetamine.

Roberson, 31, faces up to six months in jail if convicted. He has been a deputy in Douglas County since 1999.
