Annual Hike-A-Thon for Tahoe Rim Trail

The ninth annual Tahoe Rim Trail fund raiser hike will be held on Saturday.

That hike will be from Kit Carson Pass to Luther Pass, a distance of 11 miles.

There will be a complimentary lunch served to all participants at mile No. 7 at Dardanelles Lake.

Hikers are to meet at the Big Meadow Trailhead on California S.R. 89 at 8 a.m.. To reach that location drive south on S.R. 89 from the U.S. 50 and S.R. 89 junction at Meyers, Calif. and then turn left into the trailhead parking lot.

Participants will be shuttled to Kit Carson Pass and then hike back to their cars.

There is a minimum of five sponsors at $2 per mile per hiker.

There is a prize for the individual with the most sponsors and a prize for the individual with the highest total contribution.

Water re-fills and snacks will be provided for the hike.
