The Carson Capitols (40-6) lost for only the sixth time this season on Thursday night, falling to Roseburg 5-4 in the second game of a doubleheader.

Carson did manage to split the twin bill, though, winning the first game 1-0.

The Caps were leading 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth before pitcher Will Quaglieri gave up three in runs in the inning to take the loss for the Caps.

The Capitols won the first game behind the strong pitching of Brian Cochran, who tossed a four-hit shutout.

The Capitols scored the game's only run in the sixth inning after a Roseburg error. Dustin Pedroia was 2-for-3, and Joe Jacobitz went 1-for-2 as they combined for all three of the Capitols' hits.
